I haven’t received my activation email within 5 minutes of
registering, what should I do?
First check to see whether the email has been sent to your Spam or Junk
mailboxes. Otherwise, Call us and we will activate you over the phone
Will the site work in firefox and an apple mac?
Yes. You should be able to view and use the site on most browsers. If you
have any problems please let our support know about them.
Can I change my personal details at any time?
You can change all your details by logging in to your account, clicking
on ‘Account details’ and editing as necessary
Can I track my purchase/sale?
Yes you can, once you are logged in. You can check the status of you purchase
or sale either by viewing your bought books page or sold books page and
clicking on the title of the book you wish to view an update for.
Can I be in direct contact with the buyer/seller at any time?
No, we do not release any contact information for data protection reasons.
What are the ‘Texting Services’?
We currently offer 3 texting services (£0.25p per text, network charges may
apply)
• Text on sale informs our sellers that a book sale has
occurred. The text will prompt the seller to login and check their ‘book
sold’ page.
• Text on ‘Wanted List’ match informs
users as soon as a book becomes available to buy on the site from their
list(s).
• Text on ‘New Message’ in mailbox informs
the user they have received a new message in their inbox.
Can I sell my books
elsewhere?
Yes, but you must immediately update your ‘Currently selling’
page if the book is sold elsewhere.
Is Sell Student Stuff
expensive to sell through?
No. We constantly review our commission charges ensuring we are the cheapest
online.
How do i change my selling price and P&P cost?
You can edit the price of the book and your P&P values by logging in,
viewing your ‘Currently selling’ page and clicking on the title
of the book you wish to edit.
Is there a listing fee?
It is free to register and list your books.
What are your commission

We take 15% plus a closing fee of £0.90p per book sale.
How do I know when my money
has been transferred?
You can check to see whether we have transferred your money by logging in,
viewing your sold books page and clicking on the title of the book.
Adding
a book to sell
Once logged in, you will notice a list with a section entitled `My books`, clicking on this will open a further list. Within this you will see `Sell a Book`. Clicking on this will open the page `Add a book to sell`. Now place the ISBN or Barcode number of the book you wish to sell in the field provided. Once you have pressed `Search` we will see if there is a match on our system. If a match is found, a form will appear with the `Title`, `Author`, `ISBN` and `Subject` fields already filled in, all you now need to do is tell us the condition of the book you want to sell, how much you want to sell it for and what you want to charge for Post and Packaging (P&P). If a match is not found on our database, a form will appear which you must complete carefully before submitting.

Your books will appear within our online database instantly. To view all the books you are selling, click on `My books` followed by `Currently Selling`.
Sold a book
We will let you know by emailing you
As soon as you have sold a book, we will email you. This email will inform you of the sale. Firstly you must log in to your account and click on `My Books` followed by `Sold Books`. On the page entitled `Books You’ve Sold` is a list of all the books you have sold, with the most recent sale at the top. Click on the title of the book to reveal further information about the sale; namely the buyers` details.
We will let you know by texting you
If you have chosen to be notified via text message you will be sent a text automatically as soon as the buyer has completed the sale online. The text will contain the title and sale price of the book you have sold. You must then login to retrieve further information about the sale (see above paragraph).
Sending a book to a buyer
Send the book by
Recorded Signed For by Royal Mail
Find the full address of where to send a book by clicking `My Books`, followed by `Sold Books` and click on the title of the book you want to send. Information will appear immediately below the title containing the buyers name and address.
Please package the book up appropriately, and send using
Recorded Signed For. It is imperative you send the book using this method as you will receive a 13 digit Track and Trace number from the post office which will act as a receipt, proving you have sent the book.
Paying the seller
We try and pay all of our sellers as quickly as possible however throughout peak months, usually September, October, January and May payments might take a little longer. If the buyer fails to inform us that they have received the book within 10 working days of the sale, we will ask you to provide us with the
13 digit Track and Trace number.
Our commission for selling
your book
We constantly review our charges ensuring that we are the cheapest online for trading books. We charge 15% commission plus a closing fee of £0.90p per book making us the cheapest online. There are no other charges. Simply great value.

take responsibility if the book is damaged?
The seller of the book is responsible for its condition and safe delivery.
Do you ship books abroad?
At present, we only deliver to the UK.
Can I cancel a purchase
at any point?
Once you have paid for the item(s), the sale is complete. We advise all
our users to check their shopping basket thoroughly before completing the
order.
How do I know it’s a safe
site to use?
We abide by all online security and data protection laws. We fully encrypt
all sensitive data using our own 128-bit encryption methods and never store
raw sensitive data on our servers.
What methods of payment
do you take?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, Delta, Solo, Switch, Maestro and Visa Electron.
Can you find a book for me?
If you are unable to find the book you are looking for, then call us and
we will try our best to help you with your search.
How do I notify you when
the book has arrived?
You must log in, view your bought books page, click on the title of the
book that has arrived and click the ‘Received book’ button provided.
How will I know when the
book has been posted?
You can check to see whether your book has been posted by logging in, viewing
your bought books page and clicking on the title of the book.
What is the
delivery time on a book order?
We estimate you should receive the book within 3-5 working days upon completion of sale. It is very important that you tell us that you have received the book, buy logging in to your account, viewing your `bought books` list, clicking on the title of the book you have received and finally clicking on the button named `Received book`.
Searching for your book
Firstly, click `Search`. On the search page you will see a drop down box and a keyword search field. The drop down box contains a list of possible search criteria. You must select an option from the drop down box and then put into the search field provided the keyword(s) you would like us to search for.
It is very important that you type carefully and check your spelling before you click `Search`.
Search results
We will always search our used book database first, however if we do not list a second hand copy of the book you have searched for, we shall search our new books database and hopefully provide you with the book at a competitive price.
Once you find the book you are looking for, click on the `View` button to read further information about the book. On this page, you will also have the option of picking from any other sellers who are also selling the book which you want to buy.

Once you are happy with the price of the book and its seller, click `Buy Now` to add the book to your shopping basket.

In your `Shopping Basket` you can view all of the books you wish to buy and remove any books you no longer wish to buy. To proceed to the checkout and complete your purchase, you must click on `Proceed to Checkout`.
Checkout your books
For us to complete your purchase, you must provide us with the billing address (the address of the credit card you will be using to process the transaction), the delivery address (where you want the book(s) to be delivered) and your credit card details.
Credit Card AddressWe will use this address as your main contact address within your account.
Delivery AddressWe can store this information to speed up future purchases (This is an option).
Credit Card DetailsWe can securely store your credit card details to speed up future purchases (This is an option).
Are your credit cards details secure?
We use our own encryption tool which converts your credit card details into a unique code. This means your details are never actually stored as they read; this is the safest and most secure way to store data.
Completing the transaction
Once you are happy with the information you have provided, click on the `Confirm Details` button. We will take you to another page which displays all the information you have provided plus all the books in your shopping basket, you can still edit your details at this point if required. Once you are satisfied with your order and all your details, click `Process Order`.

Once you have clicked `process order`, sit back, relax and allow our systems to check and confirm all your details.
DO NOT click any buttonsDO NOT close the browser...just wait a few seconds until the confirmation page appears.
Order confirmation
We advise all of our buyers to print out the confirmation page and keep it in your records. All of your purchases are available to review in the `Your Account` section, under `Your books` followed by `Bought Books`. You will be able to see the status of your book by clicking on the title of the book you have bought listed on this page.
